The Maryland Section Offers various educational opportunities throughout the calendar year:
Chemistry-in-the-Library: a hands-on science activity held at local libraries staffed by volunteer scientists from the Local Section of the American Chemical Society (ACS), and the US Army Research Laboratory (ARL) at Aberdeen Proving Ground.
Kids & Chemistry: hands-on science activities held at various schools in Harford County, Maryland staffed by volunteer scientists from the Local Section of the American Chemical Society (ACS), and the Soldier and Biological Chemical Command (SBCCOM) at Aberdeen Proving Ground.
Every April:
Earth Day is a yearly program sponsored by the National ACS and Local section honoring all science within nature. Yearly themes and local Earth Day events.
Every October:
National Chemistry Week (NCW) is a yearly program sponsored by the National ACS and Local Section working to further awareness in the chemistry and science all around us - specifically geared towards elementary, middle, and high school students. Yearly themes and local NCW events.
